Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Iterica B.V. ("Iterica", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use AI Dog Translator (the "App").
1) Summary
- Process-and-discard: When you submit audio, photos, or videos for a translation, we send that media to third-party AI providers to generate the result and do not store the media on our servers.
- Local-only history: Any saved translations are stored only on your device when you choose to save them.
- Diagnostics & stability: We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix crashes.
- Limited analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage at an aggregated level. We do not try to identify you personally or track you across apps or services.
2) Information we collect
A. Media and inputs you provide
When you use the translation features, you may provide:
- Audio recordings
- Photos
- Videos
- Optional text inputs (e.g., prompts or labels you enter)
We call these "User Content."
B. App diagnostics and basic usage signals
We collect certain information automatically through Firebase to help keep the App reliable:
- Crash logs and diagnostic details (e.g., stack traces, time of crash, device model, OS version, app version) via Firebase Crashlytics
- Basic usage/interaction events (e.g., feature usage, screens viewed, general engagement patterns) via Firebase Analytics
We do not collect your contacts, your precise location, or your photo library unless you explicitly grant permission for an in-app feature (e.g., selecting a photo/video to translate). We only access your library to let you choose files, and we don’t upload, store, or process that content on our servers unless you explicitly choose to send it.
C. Data stored on your device
If you choose to save translations, the saved items are stored locally on your device. Iterica does not receive or host this saved history on its servers.
3) How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide the service (generate translations/interpretations from User Content)
- Maintain and improve reliability (debugging, crash analysis, performance improvements)
- Understand how the App is used (aggregate product insights from Analytics)
4) How your media is processed by third-party AI providers
To generate translations/interpretations, the App sends your User Content (audio/photos/videos and relevant accompanying text) to third-party AI providers that process it on our behalf.
- Purpose: to generate the translation/interpretation and return it to the App.
- What is shared: the media you submit and the minimum information needed to produce the output (for example, your prompt or selected settings).
- Storage: Iterica does not store the uploaded media on our servers (process-and-discard). Third-party AI providers may process the content on their infrastructure. Their retention practices may vary.
If you do not want your media sent to third-party AI providers, do not use the media translation features.
5) Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics
We use Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Crashlytics: helps identify crashes and improve stability.
- Firebase Analytics: helps us understand app usage in an aggregated way (e.g., which features are used most).
These services may collect device identifiers and technical information needed to provide their functionality.

6) Legal bases (EEA/UK / GDPR)
Because Iterica B.V. is based in the Netherlands, we process personal data under the GDPR. Our legal bases include:
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)): to provide the App’s requested functionality (processing User Content to generate results).
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): to keep the App stable and improve it (crash reporting and aggregated usage measurement).
7) Sharing and disclosure
We may share information with:

- Third-party AI providers (to generate output)
- Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics)
- Hosting/infra providers (used for app backend functions that do not store your media uploads)
- Legal/safety: if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect rights and security
- Business transfers: in case of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with required notices)
We do not sell your personal data.
8) Data retention
- User Content (audio/photos/videos submitted for translation): processed to generate output and not stored on Iterica servers.
- Saved translations: stored only on your device when you choose to save them.
- Crash and analytics data: retained according to our Firebase configuration and as needed to support app reliability and product improvement.
9) Your rights
Depending on your location (including the EEA), you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data we process about you
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)

10) International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the EEA. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as contractual protections).
11) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12) Children’s privacy
AI Dog Translator is not intended for children under 14 in the Netherlands (or under the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us, and we will take appropriate steps.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" and publish the revised policy in the App. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required.
